Description
DESCRIPTION:
Buffalo horn block 90x25x6mm approximately, enough to make 2 tips, for both longbows and recurves.
Natural material, easily workable and very resistant even to fastflight strings.
TIPS: You can carve natural horn very easily with metal files. I recommend shaping it roughly, leaving a straight and rough surface to glue with EPOXY GLUE over the FIBERGLASS. The fiberglass should be sanded in the gluing area with a coarse sandpaper (80-100) to have a rough surface that allows better glue adhesion. The string notch should be shaped with a round file after gluing, avoiding sharp edges that could damage the string. Once you reach the desired shape, you can proceed with polishing using a cotton cloth and the appropriate paste. You can use a specific cotton tool to be spun with a drill or a dremmel, you can achieve a perfect polish.
MY IMPRESSIONS: I really appreciate this material for its appearance and resistance. I believe it really adds a touch of class to any bow.
