Longbow handle blank

Description

Wooden block to make the handle of a longbow, or of a recurve bow with the same style of handle. 450mm long, 50mm high, 38mm wide.

Available in Wenge or Shedua wood.

Tips:
The two “wings” of the block are tapered to a blade edge, so they end between the wood laminations without leaving any step: avoid breaking them.
The bow laminations must wrap the handle with one wood lamination and one fiberglass lamination on the archer’s side, and all the others on the target side.
The gluing surfaces must be rough: avoid sanding them with sandpaper that is too fine.

My impressions:
I’ve always preferred handles with a slightly anatomical grip, but true longbow purists also appreciate the straight “broomstick” style — it’s a matter of taste.
