My Testarossa Bow
When Filippo was designing his own new “Testarossa” bow, I told him over lunch that I wanted to move on from my “Picchietto” to a more high-performing bow, and after a while he called me to try out some grips.
That’s how riser number “000” of the “Testarossa” by Filippo Donadoni came into my hands, complete with a personal dedication. That’s how a 58” bow with 30# of draw weight was born — just right for my abilities and physical needs at the time.
I’ve been using the Testarossa bow for a few years now, both for 3D field archery and indoor competition. I compete almost every Sunday, and this bow has been with me through countless performances, helping me achieve great results race after race. It’s no exaggeration to say it has become a reliable companion in my sporting life.
The first thing that caught my attention right away was its precision and speed. On a field course, where distances keep changing, having a bow that responds consistently makes a huge difference. Shot after shot, race after race, the Testarossa has allowed me to keep a consistent shooting form that translated directly into results on the leaderboard.
3D field archery means hours of walking from one shooting position to the next, often on uneven ground, and the bow has to be a reliable ally even outside the actual shot, after a whole day of competition.
After years of intensive use, I can give more than a positive review.
The materials have held up beautifully over time, with no wear or drop in performance. It’s a bow built to last, both in quality and looks, and personally I was impressed by its speed from the very first shots.
