Description

DESCRIPTION
Tapered bamboo “actionwood” lamination with decreasing thickness for building high performance limbs

Width 45 mm or 38 mm = 1Âľ” or 1½”
Tapering 0.02 or 0.037
Length 80 cm = 31.5″ or 85 cm = 33″

The tapered lamination must be glued between two FIBERGLASS  or CARBON FIBER strips and between two 0.6 mm WOOD LAMINATIONS using EPOXY GLUE. They are perfectly dried and the surface is ready for bonding. Avoid contaminating or moistening it to ensure a perfect result.

RECOMMENDATIONS
The thickness of the wood laminations placed between the fiberglass determines the overall thickness of the bow and therefore its draw weight.
Predicting the final draw weight on the first attempt is quite difficult as it depends on many factors including bow length shape pressure and gluing technique. Thickness is the main variable you can adjust. By using the thicker or thinner section of the tapered lamination you will change the draw weight of your limbs.
As a purely indicative reference 5 cents of a millimeter may correspond to approximately one pound.
Personally I use them with Carbon Fiber together with 0.6 mm laminations to obtain a better looking limb with better performance.

MY IMPRESSIONS
If you are looking to achieve the best performance for your bow the use of these tapered laminations is a great advantage. Aesthetics are also important and the overall value of the product depends on the type of visible wood under the transparent fiberglass. An excellent solution is to place two 0.6 mm laminations under the transparent fiberglass with one of these tapered laminations inside.
