Description
DESCRIPTION
Bullet-shaped screw-in point in black steel, which can be inserted into any common screw-in arrow insert for carbon or aluminum shafts. The slightly larger diameter protects the shaft from wear caused by friction in the target.
Available in these sizes:
9/32 suitable for 18– or 19– aluminum shafts or -49 carbon, in weights of 75 and 100gr
5/16 suitable for 20– aluminum shafts or -60 carbon, in weight of 100gr
SUGGESTIONS
If the point tends to unscrew, forcing you to keep checking that it’s tight, you can slightly damage the thread with pliers — just enough that the point screws in with a bit of resistance and won’t come loose on its own.
MY IMPRESSIONS
The screw-in point solution for carbon and aluminum shafts has three main advantages: the first is cost — on shafts like the Predator or similar, in the stiffer -49 and -60 diameters, the aluminum insert is already included in the shaft’s price, so instead of throwing it away you can use it with these points, which cost less than direct-insertion ones. Second, if you also use Blunt or hunting points, the screw-in solution lets you swap different points on the same arrow. Finally, an arrow accidentally shot into wood can sometimes be saved by unscrewing it from the point, sacrificing only an inexpensive point. Otherwise, a fixed point is certainly more comfortable and protects the shaft better on impact.
