Electronic bow scale for measuring draw weight, to be used by hand like a mechanical release aid.
It measures in both pounds and kilograms up to 100 pounds with a sensitivity of 0.02 lb.
Includes a 3V lithium battery type CR2032.
The particularly short string hook allows you to comfortably reach the required draw length, and the power button is positioned exactly under the thumb during use. A brief press locks the measurement so it can be read comfortably.
RECOMMENDATIONS
To conveniently measure the standard 28 inch draw length i recommend using an old arrow shaft and drilling a small cross hole at 28 inches where you can glue a nail or screw. When it touches the front of the bow window, it will indicate exactly where the 28 inch draw length is for measurement.
To measure the draw weight at your actual draw length which is much more useful you must first know your TRUE draw length at the moment of release which is not easy to determine. You can find some advice here MEASURING DRAW LENGTH
As for operating instructions they are quite simple
There is only one button for all functions. A short press turns it on and it switches off automatically after 60 seconds of inactivity.
Holding the same button for 5 seconds switches between pounds and kilograms.
Pressing it for less than 4 seconds resets the measurement. Once you reach the draw length to be measured simply press the button briefly to lock the reading and after letting down the string you will see the value displayed with a negative sign in front.
MY IMPRESSIONS
This tool is truly useful and easy to use. It is important to know the draw weight of your bow at the moment of release in order to make informed decisions when choosing arrows and to verify the real arrow weight in grains per pound.
Do not focus too much on fractions of a pound or fractions of an inch of draw length they are not crucial. Simply ask a friend to observe the arrow from the side during the draw so that the portion of the shaft extending beyond the bow is approximately the same as it is at the moment of release under normal shooting conditions and you will obtain a measurement accurate enough for practical purposes.
